if a 12-Newton force is applied to a 6-kg object, what is the objects rate of acceleration or speed?

Acceleration = (force) / (mass) = (12 N) / (6 kg) = 2 m/s²

Acceleration is the rate at which its speed changes, so it's speed
depends on how long the force stays applied to the object.
