Y = mx + c
First rearranged them
-8y + 16x = 24
Then transpose
-8y = 24 - 16x
-8y = -16x + 24
Then u divide both sides by -8
-8y/-8 = -16x/-8 +24/-8
Which you cancel out y and give you
Y = 2x - 3

The slope is the gradient
Hereby the slope is 2
