2x -1x + 1 = -2

1x+1=-2

1x = -3

x = -3

Put x (which is -3) back into the first equation originally before standard form(y=2x+2) to get y = 2(-3) + 2.

Which is -6+2=-4

so x = -3

and y = -4.
