Essentially, the slope that is parallel to the pair is the the slope of the pair of points.

Using the formula [tex]\frac{y_1-y_2}{x_1-x_2}[/tex], the answer is [tex]\frac{-2}{-12}=\frac{1}{6}[/tex]
