 a^2 + b^2= c^2

a and b is for the legs and c is for the hypothenuse

1st plug in 3^2 + b^2= 4^2

2nd do the squares 9 +b^2 = 16

3rd subtract 9 to get  b^2 = 7

Finally square root to get b by itself and you get b = square root 7
